Summer Beats at the Zoo and Botanic Garden
Summer Beats at the Zoo and Botanic GardenZoo Music and Summer Nights to liven up summer evenings at the ABQ BioPark
Starting this month, evenings at the ABQ BioPark are going to get a lot groovier.
Zoo Music and Summer Nights concerts start June 9 and 10 and will occur weekly into August.
“This year, we’ve got some great local and nationally recognized bands coming in, representing a variety of genres,” said Maryann Torrez, ABQ BioPark Operation and Events Supervisor. “With 20 concerts to choose from, ranging from reggae to contemporary, Latin and bluegrass, there is something for everyone.”
The Zoo Music concert series showcases regional, national and international talent playing a variety of music, including country, Latin rock, Afro-Cuban, Celtic, bluegrass and pop-rock, while Summer Nights highlights local and regional talents with folk and Americana sounds.
Zoo Music will take place Fridays at 7:30 p.m. from June 10-August 5 at the Zoo. Summer Nights will occur Thursdays at 7 p.m. from June 9-August 18 at the Botanic Garden. Gates open at 6 p.m. for all concerts.
All concerts are lawn seating, and attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. The ABQ BioPark also encourages attendees to ride the new Zoo carousel or head to the Botanic Garden’s BUGarium before music kicks off each night.
Tickets for summer concerts are $10 for the general public and $5 for New Mexico BioPark Society members.
