Join an Open Space education park ranger for a family-friendly hike and engage in hands-on learning together as a family, listen to natural history fun facts, enjoy storytelling, and seek out wildlife.

Join an Open Space education park ranger with your little one and enjoy making discoveries about the natural world with hands-on science, story time, and an art project. Afterward, you'll leave with a packet of ideas and activities to continue discovering at home.

Outdoor Field School: Discovering Dendrology (ages 11-14)
Middle school-aged youth join two Open Space education park rangers for in-depth learning about the natural world around them through fun, hands-on science outdoors using real scientific field equipment. Classes take place at a variety of Open Space public lands.

Intro to the Outdoors: Beginning Birding Workshop (for adults)
Play like a grown-up and join us for classes that introduce the basic principles of various outdoor activities including hiking, map and compass, birding, mountain biking, and more. All in a supportive and fun environment. Classes are led by experienced outdoor educators and provide all necessary materials.

Elementary-aged youth join two Open Space education park rangers for fun and in-depth learning about the natural world around them. Program takes place at the Open Space Visitor Center and includes hiking and outdoor exploration, hands-on science, literacy, and art activities.
