    Intro to the Outdoors: Play like a grown-up and join us for classes that introduce the basic principles of various outdoor activities including hiking, map and compass, birding, mountain biking, and more. All in a supportive and fun environment. Classes are led by experienced outdoor educators and provide all necessary materials.

    Elementary-aged youth join two Open Space education park rangers for fun and in-depth learning about the natural world around them. Program takes place at the Open Space Visitor Center and includes hiking and outdoor exploration, hands-on science, literacy, and art activities.

    Join an Open Space education park ranger with your little one and enjoy making discoveries about the natural world with hands-on science, story time, and an art project. Afterward, you'll leave with a packet of ideas and activities to continue discovering at home.

    Middle school-aged youth join two Open Space education park rangers for in-depth learning about the natural world around them through fun, hands-on science outdoors using real scientific field equipment. Classes take place at a variety of Open Space public lands.

    Come join Open Space Educators on a 1-mile guided hike through the Tijeras Arroyo nestled between the Sandia and Manzano Mountains.
